Some Southampton fans have been full of high praise for the club’s Scottish midfielder Stuart Armstrong following the club’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace.
The win at Selhurst Park saw Southampton climb up to ninth in the Premier League table, coming back to winning ways after a disappointing 3-2 loss to Wolves this past weekend. The game against Roy Hodgson’s men saw Stuart Armstrong score a goal, while winger Nathan Redmond also scored a goal of his own.
Southampton fans: Was Armstrong the missing piece in the jigsaw?
No question about it!
We need more!
After the game, Saints fans could not help but hail Armstrong for his performance. Some feel that he has been crucial to changing their season.
What a strike? Well chuffed for Armstrong, he’s come on leaps & bounds since he arrived, and it was great to see him finish the game, for once. #SaintsFC https://t.co/fz90GmAXyl

Armstrong had joined Southampton from Scottish giants Celtic in the summer of 2018 for a fee of £7 million. In his first season at the club in the previous campaign, Armstrong made 32 appearances in all competitions for the club. He scored four goals and also racked up a tally of two assists.
This season, the midfielder has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the club and has a tally of two goals for them. He has played only 979 minutes of first-team football for the side this season.
During his time at Parkhead, Armstrong made 144 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops and scored 28 goals for them.
What do we think?
Armstrong indeed deserves praise for his performance. The midfielder didn’t just get the goal, he also completed 30 passes in the game and came up with one key pass. He completed one dribble, winning one tackle and aerial duel each.
