The rationale was that the Glaswegian side would give Sharp an opportunity to, not only play football matches but to win trophies. The article also mentions how Sharp has supposedly rejected an offer from Neil Lennon’s side.
But this week, during his press conference, Chris Wilder admitted that he and the player had spoken. The messaged seemed to indicate that Wilder and Sharp agree that he should stay with the Blades. When they heard this news, the fans were ecstatic. They think he is a true Blade who wants to stay and fight for his place. They admire his enthusiasm to win. One fan admits that, while he may be slightly below the standard of Wilder’s starting eleven, sentiment will earn him game time in the second half of the season.

I’ve a feeling he’s going to get more game time in the 2nd half of season. He’s the one and only exception to the rule, for me, about no sentiment in football. As a Blade I absolutely give my consent to Billy being given a proper chance to see if he can hack it in the Prem.

He deprived himself of playing in the premier league to play League 1/Championship football with us and without him we wouldn’t be where we are today. There’s many other so called Blades fans who left us for money. Billy is a legend

What do we think?
It is evident that the fans have a great deal of respect for the player. While everyone wants him to stay, however, it could seriously hinder his career. Without regular football, Sharp could struggle to find first-team football in the future. He has only seen 380 minutes of football this season over 13 appearances.
