These Newcastle United fans discuss the latest Moussa Dembele transfer rumours coming from the Daily Mail.
According to a report from the Daily Mail: “Scouts from Manchester United, [Manchester] City, Newcastle and West Ham watched the Lyon striker.” This was later relayed to these fans via NUFC 360 on Twitter.
Dembele started his career in the PSG academy ranks, before moving to Fulham’s U18s for just £324k. After breaking his way into the Fulham first team, the 23-year-old was moved on to Celtic on a free transfer. However, according to Transfermarkt, the transfer to Celtic came with “£500,000 compensation.”
Indeed, with the Frenchman impressing at the Scottish giants, it wasn’t too long until Lyon came knocking for Dembele, with the French club buying the striker for £19.80m in August 2018.
Here’s what the Newcastle fans had to say about the latest Dembele transfer rumours on Twitter:

Would you like to see Moussa Dembele join Newcastle United?
Yes
No
So far this season, Dembele has played 18 French Ligue 1 matches for Lyon, scoring 10 goals but getting zero assists.
However, these Newcastle fans don’t believe the Magpies have a chance of signing the Frenchman, perhaps it’s because clubs such as Manchester City and Manchester United are rumoured to have also watched Dembele. Or maybe it’s the amount of money they would need to spend to land him, with Chelsea having had a bid of £34m turned down by Lyon for him (per Sky Sports).

What Do We Think?
Scoring 10 goals in 18 Ligue 1 matches proves Dembele can score goals, however, the Premier League is one of the toughest around, so there may still be question marks over his potential in England.
Is this a risk we think Newcastle should take? Not really as we think they should continue to work with Joelinton. Although the striker has scored just once all season, maybe the Brazilian is yet to still settle in and will eventually show why he was brought to St. James’ Park in the first place.
