At the time of writing this, Newcastle United were reportedly the front-runners to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose – according to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas.
It was understood that the 29-year-old would be allowed to leave North London this month and Steve Bruce was said to be very interested in bringing the player to St James’ Park.
And, it appears as if Lyall Thomas’ news was correct as Sky Sports have now reported that the Magpies have agreed a loan deal.
What have the Magpies’ supporters made of the story and would they be pleased to see Rose come in?
Would bringing Danny Rose in, even if on loan be good business?
Yes
No
He’d be a great signing. Let’s hope it happens.

However, there were some supporters who advised caution in regards to the rumours linking Rose with a move to the North East.
I wouldn’t trust anything SS say, they had Rafa odds on for the WH job at the start of the season. They will do things such as that to get people to go and bet on it.

like the take over – I’ll believe it when I see it.

What do we think?
Danny Rose is a highly-experienced footballer but his relationship with Tottenham Hotspur has clearly broken down. He’s spoken publicly of his desire to run his contract down but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a good solution and an asset to Steve Bruce’s side, even if on loan and just for the immediate future.
Having lost Jetro Willems to a long-term injury, Rose seems like a good replacement with plenty of Premier League experience.
