Newcastle have been dealt yet another injury blow after it emerged that midfielder Jonjo Shelvey will face a spell on the sidelines with a muscle injury.
The 27-year-old is reportedly set to miss the majority of February with the problem leaving Steve Bruce and the clubs supporters understandably frustrated.
The injury is understood to be hamstring related and he’s likely to miss the fixtures against Norwich, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Burnley as well as the FA Cup replay with Oxford United.
Could Steve Bruce be to blame for the number of injuries?
Yes
No
This must be a Bruce thing, we’ve had more injuries in the last 6 months than we’ve had in the previous 3 years combined.

What do we think?
Shelvey, who is valued at £16.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), has played 15 times in the Premier League this season and has scored five goals for Steve Bruce’s side. Since joining the club, he has played 128 times for Newcastle and on his day, he’s shown what a fine player he can be.
It’s not uncommon for players to pick up hamstring injuries and the frustration amongst the fanbase likely comes from the sheer volume of problems they’ve had to contend with this season.
