A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to Steve Bruce’s latest quotes on transfers.
The Toon boss was talking to the media before his side face Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was asked about Ademola Lookman to which he responded: “He’s a good player, I like him, who wouldn’t? But we’ve been linked with 38 players so far. Plates are still spinning.”
Will Newcastle get the signings they need?
Yes, they can't afford not to
No, they have failed before and will again
This seems to suggest that Newcastle are not as close to signing Lookman as Football Insider reported last night, but it is the “Plates are still spinning” quote that has annoyed many Toon fans.
Steve Bruce confirms his interest in RB Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman, but says there’s a bit of work to do: “He’s a good player, I like him, who wouldn’t? But we’ve been linked with 38 players so far. Plates are still spinning.” #NUFC

“Plates are still spinning” is going to be this decade’s “trying to get them over the line” isn’t it!

Other Newcastle supporters are desperate for a striker.
Can the club not just focus on the main issue, we need a goal scorer! I think it’s time they just admitted they got it wrong with joelinton. #nufc

What do we think?
Bruce was rather cautious when discussing transfers and stressed the difficulty of signing players in January.
Newcastle need to add forward additions, and Lookman could be a good signing. However, it appears that he is not as close to joining Newcastle as some reports have suggested.
The Toon still have three weeks to bring in the players they need, but some of their fans would like to see some movement soon.
