A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to Lee Ryder’s tweet about Danny Rose.
The Evening Chronicle reporter believes that Rose’s wages and contract situation would be a big hurdle for the Toon if they want to sign the 29-year-old left-back.
Could Rose end up at Newcastle?
Yes
No
Rose, who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, has been told he is surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho, and Newcastle would love to add him to their side, but face competition from Watford and Bournemouth, and they must match Rose’s wage demands.
This latest update from Ryder has not gone down well with many Toon fans.

Other Newcastle supporters, though, think that they can sign Rose.
Surely if he’s on £60k p/w at Spurs, wants to return North and will look for a last pay day, he’s not gonna ask for more than £80k+?

How’s is a big hurdle? Spurs don’t pay big wages to their players anyways levy is the same as Ashley

Haven’t we just covered bentaleb on 85k a week? How can we not do a deal for Rose on 60k. We need to release savait colback aarons lazaar ki and get them off the wage bill one way or another.

What do we think?
Rose has previously said that he is going nowhere in this window.
Newcastle have an injury crisis at left-wing-back with both Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems out for the season – so they need to sign someone who can help Matt Ritchie.
Rose could be an excellent signing, but it seems like there is a lot to do before the Doncaster-born defender is on Tyneside.
