Former Premier League boss Sam Allardyce believes that Jordan Henderson is now a better player than Manchester City’s Fernandinho.
The former England manager’s comments on Sky Sports (via the Manchester Evening News) have angered the City faithful who have taken to social media to blast the 65-year-old.
Is Fernandinho better than Jordan Henderson?
Yes
No
The quotes were relayed on Twitter by City Chief and many fans took exception to Allardyce’s remarks, with many slamming him in the process.

What do we think?
Fernandinho arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2013 and has gone on to win three Premier League titles with the Manchester club. His concentration and toughness in the challenge combined with his strong passing ability has made him one of the club’s most important players for years.
Now doing a job for Pep Guardiola at centre-back, the 34-year-old has demonstrated his versatility and willingness to put the team ahead of his own interests.
Jordan Henderson is a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, the club captain and somebody who deserves the plaudits coming his way – especially after having won the UEFA Champions League last season.
However, in order for the England international to surpass the Brazilian he needs to perform at the elite level for a longer period of time. Whilst Henderson shows heart, passion and plays with his heart on his sleeve that simply doesn’t match up to the tactical sophistication Fernandinho displays every time he takes to the field.
