Some Manchester City fans feel defender Benjamin Mendy was back to his brilliant best during the 2-2 draw versus Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The Frenchman’s form has been somewhat inconsistent since he joined the club which has been largely down to his injury problems but as a result of a number of factors his performances have led to many questioning the decision to spend such a large amount of money on him back in the summer of 2017.
The 25-year-old made the move from the South of France to Manchester in a deal reportedly worth £51.75m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
According to WhoScored.com, the left-back’s display at the weekend earned him a performance rating of 7.8/10 which has prompted the club’s supporters, to heap praise on the defender after City Chief posted his numbers on Twitter.

What do we think?
Mendy provided an excellent cross late in the game from which Sergio Aguero headed the Cityzen’s in front with just three minutes of normal time to play. Although Crystal Palace managed to find an equaliser and the result wasn’t what Pep Guardiola or his squad would have hoped for, he will no doubt take confidence from his left-back’s individual showing.
