Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola would like to bring Inter’s Milan Skriniar to the Etihad – that’s according to Sky Sports reporter who was speaking during The Transfer Show. Kaveh Solhekol (via Express), as relayed on Twitter by Man City Xtra

It has been claimed that the Slovakian defender would be ‘the dream signing’ for the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

However, it’s a deal that is ‘more likely’ to happen in the summer rather than during this months transfer window and it’s a move that the supporters would seemingly be behind.

What do we think?

Skriniar has been in impressive form this season under Antonio Conte, averaging 1.1 tackles, one interception and three clearances in Serie A so far. The Nerazzurri are looking to end Juventus’ dominance by winning this years Scudetto for the first time since the 2009-2010 season and the 24-year-old is key to their challenge.

The former Sampdoria defender has made 18 top-flight appearances so far this season having started 95% of Inter’s league fixtures. According to WhoScored.com, Skriniar is an accomplished passer of the ball, something that Pep Guardiola values in his central-defenders but is somewhat weak in aerial duels.

The club are expected to do some significant business this summer and therefore this is a story to keep your eyes on in the coming months.
