These Liverpool fans have been discussing Pepe Reina’s move to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa on loan.
The Villans announced the signing on their website stating: “Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Pepe Reina on loan from AC Milan until the end of the season.” His move was later relayed to these Liverpool fans via Empire of the Kop on Twitter, who took time out to wish him the best.
Reina played 395 matches for Liverpool during his time at Anfield, so it’s easy to see why some Reds fans might feel a bit sentimental towards the goalkeeper.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Reina on Twitter:
Would just like to take a moment to wish Pepe Reina good luck at Aston Villa. He's genuinely one of the best goalkeepers the League has seen, and he totted up A LOT of appearances at #LFC before he moved on. He deserved to win more trophies with us. ?? #YNWA pic.twitter.com/mlC1CtaaWC

Hated the way he was made to leave without getting the chance to say goodbye properly. He deserved to be treated better.

Should Pepe Reina ever return to Liverpool?
Yes
No
Surprisingly, during his time at Anfield, Reina picked up two red cards. Perhaps, not a stat you usually see from a goalkeeper.
These fans clearly want the best for the Spaniard, which is nice to see considering the veteran shot-stopper doesn’t even play for them anymore.
Good luck Pepe ?????? YNWA!!! ??

What Do We Think?
With Aston Villa manager Dean Smith stating: “We’ve managed to secure a player in Pepe who has a wealth of Premier League experience,” it’s likely Reina will be getting some solid game time at Villa. We feel this could be a great chance for the Spaniard to shine and wish him all the best at his new club.
