Liverpool fans on Twitter have been criticising Sadio Mane’s performance against Manchester United on Sunday.
This comes after the winger put in a poor display in the 2-0 win over United at Anfield, resulting in a match rating of 6.5 according to WhoScored.
Did Mane have his worst game of the season against United on Sunday?
Yes
No
Mane’s performance in the match caught the attention of a number of Liverpool fans who then took to Twitter after the match to share their opinions on the Senegalese international.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans slating Mane:
One fan even stated that the club need either Timo Werner or Jadon Sancho to come in. Both players have been linked with moves to Anfield, but they may have to wait until the summer for one of those potential moves.
The volume of wasted chances is still a concern. The decision making of Mane in particular but Salah also is really poor at times. They need competition and that’s why we need a Werner or Sancho to come in #LFC

Mane is currently Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with 11 goals, the same as Mohamed Salah who’s also on 11 (per Premier League). But with this latest performance against United where Mane failed to score, some Liverpool fans have targeted the winger for online criticism because of his poor performance.
Should have been 6/7 , mane two bad misses salah one sitter ,var disallowing a perfect firmino goal as never a foul on drop a lot De Gea ,Hendo post ,last 15 we sat back as we know we can defend ,#mufc nowhere near our level . #lfc

Robertson needs to step up; he keeps giving the ball away and Mane doesn’t track back to cover for him. Mane has been poor too.

What do we think?
For a player who has been so important for Liverpool this season in terms of goal-scoring, it was a surprise to see Mane, who is valued at £135 million (Transfermarkt), not getting amongst the goals in Sunday’s match. The Liverpool fans will now be hoping the weekend’s match was just an off-day for Mane and that he can get back to scoring soon.
