According to Bild, Bayern Munich have been left unimpressed with Philippe Coutinho and will not activate their buyout option meaning it’s likely the Brazilian will return to Barcelona at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has made 16 Bundesliga appearancesfor the Bavarian giants this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
Would you like to see Coutinho return to Anfield?
Yes
No
However, the report claims that’s not been enough to impress the club’s hierarchy and so Coutinho, who’s still valued at £63m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk), could be on his way back to Catalonia.

Poor little phil

What a sad ending for a man who was a Liverpool star one time. Always stay loyal no matter what.

Is it what it is. I hated his antics the summer before to try and force it through, but there’s no denying he was brilliant for Liverpool in his last 6 months. We are a better team without him

He should of never left Liverpool. Ruined his career imo

I believe he’s devastated inside but he thought it would enhance his career. It hasn’t but he could still resurrect it if he goes somewhere where he is managed correctly!

What do we think?
Philippe Coutinho played 201 times for the Merseyside giants and in that time scored 54 goals whilst providing 45 assists – that’s a total of 99 direct goal contributions.
When Barcelona came calling in January 2018 and tabled an offer worth £130m, the Liverpool fans may have been left heartbroken but the funds were reinvested back into the team and the club were able to strengthen defensively. As a result, they’ve gone on to improve significantly and look set to win their first league title since the 1989-90 season.
The reality is, Liverpool have moved on from Coutinho and whilst he’ll always be remembered as an excellent player, it’s highly unlikely they would consider bringing the Selecao star back to Anfield.
