Leicester City are interested in Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard but will delay making a formal approach until the summer – that’s according to the Daily Record. The 21-year-old is said to be on the wish lists of a number of Premier League managers but it’s understood the Scottish champions are not willing to negotiate a transfer this month.

Celtic signed Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain in July 2018 for just over £9m (according to Transfermarkt.co.uk) but the report claims bidding would need to start around the £30m mark before the club would even consider doing business.

The French striker has scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists in just 17 league appearances so far this season – highlighting his influence and importance to Neil Lennon’s side.

TIF Tactics – Support for Vardy, not a replacement

The Foxes already boast having the Premier League’s leading goalscorer in Jamie Vardy but the general consensus amongst the fans is that they’re in need of a second striker who can be just as devastating.

Kelechi Iheanacho has chipped in with a few goals in recent months but since arriving from Manchester City his performances have been largely underwhelming.

Leicester City currently sit in second place and are in a strong position to secure UEFA Champions League football next season. That factor, combined with the lure of the English Premier League, is likely to be enough to persuade the player himself – but whether the two clubs can agree a transfer fee remains to be seen.

It seems the interest is genuine but the Foxes fans will need to wait until the summer before a formal bid is launched.
