Leicester City suffered a disappointing defeat at Turf Moor courtesy of Burnley at the weekend despite having taken a first-half lead through Harvey Barnes.
French midfielder Nampalys Mendy was handed a rare start in order to deputise for the absent Wilfred Ndidi but how was his performance assessed by the Foxes fans?
Should Mendy be sold this summer?
Yes
No
Must have watched a different game thought he was poor, gave the ball away a lot and looked out of his depth

Thought he looked lost. Didn’t provide an option for a pass from the back and didn’t protect the defence much either. he’s simply not good enough in my opinion

Effort not in question with Mendy. However thought he was off the mark. Can only play the ball back or sideways when forward passes are on. It’s either confidence or quality he’s lacking

Sign at least 3 this week a ST because looked like His head was else where, a CM to fill in for Ndidi & CB to cover for Morgan while He gets better, & sell Mendy, Chilwell when saw Him play last week didn’t have head in game

You’ve said it all my friend. Sell MENDY

Only reason why Mendy is starting, is to put him into the shop window for the next few weeks of jan or the summer. #lcfc

What do we think?
Ndidi has been pivotal to Leicester City’s successes so far this season and whoever was tasked with deputising for him was always going to be compared to the Nigerian enforcer. To put it simply, Mendy is a downgrade on the 23-year-old who is currently valued at £40.5m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) and there’s no doubt his absence was felt.
Mendy has made just three Premier League appearances so far this season and it’s always difficult for a player to come in from the wilderness and immediately perform at the level required, particularly in a side who are challenging at the very top of the division.
The player arrived at the King Power from the French side Nice back in July 2016 for a fee of £13.95m but given his inability to establish himself as a regular, there’s probably a good chance he won’t be at the club beyond the summer.
