Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal of the game as the Foxes defeated Brentford on Saturday to secure their place in the fifth round of this seasons FA Cup.

The Nigerian forward was on hand to turn in James Justin’s cross after Dennis Praet split the Bee’s defence with a wonderful pass.

Signed from Manchester City back in 2017 for just shy of £25m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk), the striker has scored 17 goals in 75 games for the Foxes.

Although on the surface it doesn’t seem like a great return, it is worth noting that most of his recent appearances have come as a substitute.

Fans, though, were clearly delighted with what they saw from the Nigerian, with many believing he is starting to fulfil his potential and showing what a talent he can be when given the chance.

What do we think?

The striker certainly appears to have rediscovered the swagger and confidence that would have tempted the East-Midlands club into spending such a significant amount of money on him in the first place.

As the Foxes look to secure their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, they will no doubt need the strength of their entire squad.

Although he’s not a regular started and still behind Jamie Vardy in the pecking order, he still has a significant role to play in helping the club achieve their targets.
