Everton: Supporters gush over club announcement on Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium

|

Supporters of Everton have gushed over the club’s announcement on USM paying the Toffees £30 million to enter discussions for rights to name the new stadium.

As posted by the club on Tuesday night (as per Everton): ‘the club has entered into a £30m new arrangement with USM, enabling them to enter into a naming right contract’ for the new stadium, which had fans excited.

Do you mind having a branded stadium name if it leads to better players on the pitch?

Yes, club loses a little bit of soul

No, don't care as long as we win

The Toffees submitted planning permission for the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium in late December (as per Everton).

Everton’s new stadium is set to house 52,000 seats and at the time of announcement was due to be ready in time for the 2023/24 season (as per The Guardian).

With the latest development appearing to be the start of Alisher Usmanov’s investment into the club (via the Financial Times), as the Russian billionaire is the founder of USM (per USM), fans were excited.

What do we think?

As many supporters suggested, this does, very much, seem like the beginning of Usmanov’s investment in the Toffees, which he has stated he is interested in doing (per Financial Times).

With Everton having just announced record losses during their latest financial submission (as per The Telegraph), the investment is coming at a welcome time for the Toffees.
