Supporters of Everton have shown their delight that Carlo Ancelotti has informed Gylfi Sigurdsson that he will be sold in the January transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Toffees’ 60-year-old Italian has told the Icelandic international that he will be on his way out of Goodison Park this month (via The Gwladys Street), which had supporters ecstatic.

Realistically, what level is Gylfi Sigurdsson now consistently playing at for Everton?

During this season, the 30-year-old midfielder has featured in 23 games for the Toffees, in which he has managed to score two goals and bag one assist (per Transfermarkt).

With an average rating of 6.72/10 (per Whoscored), he has fallen way wide of the mark in the eyes of Everton fans and they were delighted that he was set to leave.

What do we think?

With a woeful 2/10 performance rating in the FA Cup Merseyside derby (per Liverpool Echo), it is clear that Sigurdsson is no longer playing at the level Everton require and for that, seems set to leave.

Having been on his back for a while now, it is clear that Everton supporters will not be sorry to see the 30-year-old leave Goodison Park.
