Supporters of Everton launched an attack on shareholder, Tom Cannon.
At the Toffees’ Annual General Meeting, Cannon launched a tirade on Marcel Brandsand stated that his recruitment has been an ‘unmitigated failure’ (as per Everton News Feed), which had supporters slating Cannon.

Can’t get my head around this one, unless he’s blaming him for Walsh’s failures. The only thing Brands has failed to deliver is a centre half last summer, unless people are writing Kean off already.

Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman are to blame for the nonsense signings prior to Brands arrival. Marcel Brands, just needs a little more time to get it right and will do that with Don Carlo Ancelotti at his side ????

What? Is he going on about?
Look at the signi g and what he inherited.
The idiot probably wants Big Sam back and was probably pushing for Moyes.
People like him are the problem at the club can not see past the end of his nose.— Mr Jones (@OH_Man_Blue) January 14, 2020
Unbelievable Jeff

Would you say that, overall, Marcel Brands' signings for Everton have been positive or negative?PositiveNegative |
Brands was appointed by the Toffees in 2018, following Steve Walsh’s sacking as director of football following the Ronald Koeman era at the club (as per BBC).
Cannon’s main criticism of the former PSV Eindhoven director of football was over the quality of his signings, however, supporters felt that the deals that Brands has made have been the best of recent years.
Don’t agree with this view. Brands sounds like he’s got his head screwed on and now we’ve got Carlo at the helm he’ll off load the dross and bring in quality – bring on the good times. COYB.

That’s overly harsh given what’s gone on prior to him but he shouldn’t be beyond questioning – on balance he’s still got more right than wrong

Do us a favour Tom and shut your grid. Not saying all signings have been successful but best thing to ever happen to the club.

Brands’ signings HAVE NOT been failures. He’s made some great buys! WALSH made terrible signings!

What do we think?
It is difficult to disagree with how the supporters feel on this one. Many players that look to be on their way out of Goodison Park were signed prior to the Brands era (as per Express).
Either way, following a vote over Brands’ position, he was re-elected as the club’s director of football and is set to stay with the Toffees (as per Phil Kirkbride).
