Former Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic currently plays his football for Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United but there was one particular moment in their game versus Manchester City on Tuesday night that sparked some debate amongst the Evertonian’s.
Besic went lunging in on City’s Aymeric Laporte, who is freshly back from injury, and the reckless nature of his challenge is something that was all too familiar to those who once watched him regularly at Goodison Park.
Would you like to see Besic play for Everton again?
Yes
No
Typical Mo, reckless and erratic.

Could have been a lot worse. Imagine the uproar, someone doing that to Gomes on his return ? it’s not great to see really when a players been out for so long.

But there were some keen to point out that’s exactly the kind of bite Everton are lacking in their midfield.
At least he gets stuck in!!!
Something what are midfielders don’t do!!

What do we think?
There is certainly no place for challenges like that in the modern game, and regardless of whether or not Everton are missing a tough-tackling player in the midfield, Besic’s challenge was totally unacceptable whoever the opponent.
The Bosnian failed to establish himself as a regular at Goodison Park and it’s no wonder given his poor judgement. The 27-year-old made a total of 56 appearances for the club in all competitions and has had spells out on loan at Middlesbrough and now Sheffield United.
With his contract with the Blue’s set to expire at the end of this current season, we can be relatively confident he will finally be moving on this summer.
