Supporters of Everton have reacted to the news that the Toffees are set to make a loss in the region of around £110 million for a 13-month period.
According to Paul Joyce of the Times, the loss will be the club’s record over the time period, which had many reflecting on the negative news.

Won’t be making any purchases in this window, need to sell sell sell, get rid of the horrible wage bill and start from scratch. Ancelotti & Brands will be mountain of work to do in the summer window

Unfortunately Mr. Moshiri listened to Walsh, Koeman and Allardyce. Bought players who did naff all to improve the squad. There again hindsight is a wonderful thing. We are going to have to sell all the no marks and deadwood at a loss this year. Those 3 should pay us back.

Gotta sell the older guys, even though they won’t bring profits

Not getting any big signings then

Will Everton make any permanent signings this transfer window?Yes, it could happenNo, there's no chance |
However, a possible saving grace for the Toffees may be that Russian Billionaire Alisher Usmanov was quoted saying that he is ready to invest in the Merseyside club in a recent interview (as per Financial Times).
With the former Arsenal shareholder (per BBC) reportedly keen to be involved, some Everton fans were not worried by the news of record losses.
Alisher Usmanov will find a way round that Paul, you of all people should know this sausage x

So despite these losses Evertons net debt is now reduced to just 10m? Probably the healthiest position the clubs ever been in.

What do we think?
On the face of it, the article from Joyce does make for stark reading from a Toffees perspective, the words ‘record losses‘ can never be taken in a positive way.
However, as many fans have suggested, if additional funds are on the way from Usmanov, all could be well. Either way, it will be interesting to see how this transfer window pans out.
