Everton have rejected a loan bid from Celtic for Anthony Gordon – that’s according to the Athletic. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has played just once for the first-team this season but is allegedly highly regarded by those behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
Gordon prefers to play through the middle but according to Transfermarkt.co.uk is also comfortable playing from the left-hand-side.
Would a loan move to Celtic have been of benefit to Anthony Gordon?

You loan young players out when you think it will enhance their development, unless you believe they have a role to play in your own first team squad. Now, not in 6 months https://t.co/NdM7CxmuDw looks like Marcel and Carlo have concluded the latter.

We have 22 in our squad. He will get time at efc

Surely he won’t be twiddling his thumbs on the bench anymore then?

What do we think?
Anthony Gordon has played 9 times in the Premier League 2 this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists. He’s a player with a bright future and one the club are clearly set on keeping.
You could argue that regular first-team football would do the player good in terms of his immediate development but Carlo Ancelotti and his staff appear to have decided the Liverpool born attacker has a part-to-play at Goodison Park.
