Carlo Ancelotti has been speaking about the January transfer window and has claimed that the market didn’t present any good opportunities for his team. According to the club’s official website the 60-year-old has vowed to continue helping his current squad to improve.
Here’s what he had to say:
“If there was an opportunity, we could consider [it] but I think that the market didn’t show for us a really good opportunity.
“So we have to think to do well in this season and, after that, we are going to have a period where we can improve the squad.”
What have the clubs supporters made of the boss’ comments regarding the way this window has gone for them so far?
Do you agree with Ancelotti's approach to this months window?
Yes
No
Sensible.
rather that then panic buying or just wasting money on someone for the sake of it. Hopefully the summer is a big one

I think this time the club have been more sensible and not wasted money on a player that might not add to the team and could end up being a waste.
Move onto the summer now!

Confident Carlo will get the best out of what we have right now and make the necessary changes in the summer. Has my full support ?

Good. We’re not going down, seasons going nowhere. Best to work his ideas into the team over the remainder, no panic buying

Would rather this than the previous shambles with Walsh, Koeman and Allardyce. Still plenty that could be done with the current squad. Would prefer us to wait until summer.

Sensible we’ve had our fingers burnt before in January. Wait till the summer and do it properly.

What do we think?
January is a notoriously difficult time to do business and so Carlo Ancelotti’s comments seem fair. The Italian is as experienced as they come and is regarded as one of the games greatest ever managers, his list of honours says as much.
These Toffees’ fans seem to agree with their boss and judging by their comments they are hopeful the club will be looking to do some significant business in the summer – in which case, they are willing to stay patient for the time being at least.
