Supporters of Everton were left in shock after the club shared a Tweet showing Michael Keane in the FIFA Team of the Week.
On Wednesday, the Toffees shared a post in which the English centre-back was included in the video game’s Team of the Week following his display in the 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion (as per Everton), which had supporters surprised.

He was the worst defender on the field that day. And had been all season..
Holgate has been 10 times better than him alll season. AND better against Brighton.
Richarlison or Digne deserved it for the Brighton game, not this lazy fraud

Did Michael Keane deserve a position in FIFA's Team of the Week after his display against Brighton? No, absolutely notYes, best on the pitch |
In the clash with the Seagulls, Keane, who is valued at £27 million (as per Transfermarkt), picked up a 6/10 performance rating, one rating worse than Mason Holgate’s 7/10 score (as per Liverpool Echo).
With a 6.73/10 average rating for the season as a whole (as per WhoScored), supporters continued to show their surprise over EA Sports giving the 27-year-old recognition for his performance.
And he himself probably doesn’t know why.

What do we think?
When considering the performance ratings that were given out for the clash with Brighton, of which Keane scored no better than anyone else in the team (per Liverpool Echo), it seems a little bit baffling.
Perhaps EA Sports have seen something that supporters of Everton have not, however, that seems a little unlikely.
