Crystal Palace fans settled for a draw against Arsenal on the weekend. The win kept Arsenal just below them in the table, with both team’s just one point apart in the standings. The match could have looked much different at the end if not for an incredible double save by Vicente Guaita. The Spanish shot-stopper got down brilliantly well to deny Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette in quick succession.
Crystal Palace’s Twitter account posted footage of the double save for fans to view. They think it is one of the best saves they have seen upon closer inspection, while others applaud the bravery of Guaita to smother the ball as Lacazette winds up to shoot.
One of the best saves I’ve ever seen. The first is incredible but the reaction to get back up and smother the rebound is something else. His highlight reel just gets better and better.

That has got to be the save of the season… The tip onto the post and then the recovery saves were out of this world 🙂

I didn’t realise at the time, but that is a superb double save, and at the end a brave one.

Was Guaita's double save versus Arsenal the save of the season?
Yes
No
Some fans can’t believe that the club paid nothing for him. They reckon he is the bargain of the season and is becoming one of the best goalkeepers in the league after signing on a free.
@vguaita13 2 points saved right there. You have settled in now really well. #oneoftheprembest

What do we think?
With the player winning two Crystal Palace Player of the Month awards so far this season already, there is no questioning why he is so adored by fans. If he continues to perform the way he has been, he could have a few more of those individual awards by the end of the season.
