It was yet another winless game for Roy Hodgson and his Crystal Palace side this week. When the club they played Southampton, there was perhaps a glimmer of hope that the side could end their, at that point, five-game winless streak. But after Nathan Redmond and Stuart Armstrong scored a goal each for Southampton, the Eagles walked away from Selhurst park without a win in six games.

But while the fans would have been disappointed with the loss regardless of how it happened, many of the supporters were left frustrated by Hodgson’s inability to impact the game. When the club’s Twitter shared a post stating that Hodgson was making a double substitution in the 62nd minute, the fans weren’t very amused. Hodgson brought on Joel Ward and Max Meyer for Cheikhou Kouyate and Martin Kelly. But many supporters thought that those players should have started in the first place. By the time they were brought on, it was much too late.

One fan mocked Hodgson, ironically cheering that he made his substitutions before the 85th minute. Others want to see the manager sacked.

What do we think?

Crystal Palace’s record is shocking. The club have been unable to win more than two games in a row this season. So, while the fans were frustrated by Hodgson’s substitutions during the game, they would like to see him substituted from the manager’s seat.
