Aston Villa fans have been calling on Twitter for the club to sign Olivier Giroud during the January transfer window.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by Le 10 Sport that the club are ready to do “everything” to make a deal for the Frenchman.

The 33-year-old has only made seven appearances for Chelsea in all competitions so far this season (per Transfermarkt). Now that news has emerged that Villa are willing to pull out all the stops to make Giroud a Villa player before the end of the month, a number of fans have been sharing their delight on Twitter.

What do we think?
With Villa’s first-choice striker Wesley ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Villa will need to bring in a striker to replace him. Regarding Giroud, his lack of playing time at Chelsea could be a deciding factor in a move away from Stamford Bridge, and with Villa needing a striker, he would almost certainly get regular minutes there.
