Aston Villa fans have been fuming on Twitter over the latest update surrounding their midweek Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Leicester. 

This comes after Villa news Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post on their official page revealing that VAR will be in use for Wednesday’s semi-final first leg at the King Power Stadium.

The post also contained an article from the Birmingham Mail on the announcement.

This post then gathered several replies from Villa fans who were not pleased that VAR would be used in the midweek match.

The article also revealed that VAR will be used in both semi-final matches as well as the final at Wembley next month. This news did not go down well with some Villa fans who were quick to make their feelings known on Twitter about the use of VAR.

What do we think?

With VAR being a huge talking point in football this season, its use in the Premier League and now the Carabao Cup has only fuelled the debate surrounding it.

This latest announcement has proved that some Villa fans are not fans of it, and who can blame them after witnessing the decision on Boxing Day against Burnley.
