Aston Villa fans have been sharing their disappointment on Twitter over the latest comments made by manager Dean Smith.
This comes after Villa journalist Matt Maher shared a post on his official page relaying quotes made by Dean in his latest press conference.
Smith revealed that the club are working “around the clock” to bring in some new signings this month, but none are expected to happen before Villa take on Manchester City on Sunday.
How many more transfers do Villa need to make this month?

This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were less than pleased with this news.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans reacting to this latest transfer update from Smith:
Pretends to be shocked

Not like weve known we need strikers and wingers since the last window shut to be fair…??

Just written the game off totally useless

The only transfer the club has made so far in the January window is the loan-deal for Danny Drinkwater until the end of the season. But now with Smith’s latest comments claiming the club aren’t likely to bring anyone else in this week at least, some fans have been getting irate on Twitter.
What happened to striker in before City game ?????

This is understandable but by the time we get our forwards in we may be cut adrift making it pointless..

Which is surely why targets needed identifying during December and contact made ahead of January 1st so that we could get numbers on board as early in the month as possible? Sunday was always a free hit but we can’t let Brighton, Watford and Bournemouth come and go

What do we think?
Given Villa’s injury list contains the likes of Tom Heaton, John McGinn and Wesley, it’s understandable why a lot of Villa fans are pleading for the club to act swiftly when it comes to transfers.
