Aston Villa fans have been questioning on Twitter the club announcement of Jonathan Kodjia’s departure.
This comes after the official Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page announcing Kodjia’s exit to Qatari side Al-Gharafa.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were confused by the manner in which the club announced the transfer with no good luck or thank you message in the post.
Was Villa's post about Kodjia disrespectful?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans questioning the club’s post:
That all he gets?

Not even a thank you or a good luck.

Bit rude not giving him a proper send off.

The striker spent three-and-a-half years at Villa Park since arriving from Bristol City in 2016. Since then, Kodjia went on to make 106 appearances for the Birmingham club, scoring 31 goals and picking up nine assists along the way (per Transfermarkt). Now that Kodjia’s time at the club has come to an end, some Villa fans have been a bit surprised with the way in which the club has decided to say goodbye to the striker.
Disrespectful

Lacks class this, guys. No “thanks and good luck”? No highlights?
Without him we may have been in a relegation fight in the championship in that 1st season down. So regardless of his performances recently, he doesn’t deserve this type of farewell.
Don’t like this at all.

I’ll say it for you… Thank you @J_Kodjia for the goals you scored in that first season. Thanks for being a character our club desperately needed over those 3 Championship Seasons… And all the best for the future King Kodj. ???

What do we think?
To not say goodbye or good luck or even thank you to a player that has played over 100 times for the club is quite strange. The fact that the Villa fans have picked up on it just goes to show how appreciated he is by the fans.
