Aston Villa fans have been fuming on Twitter as the club have still not signed a new striker this month.
This comes after Villa journalist Dan Bardell shared a post on his official Twitter page on the club’s transfer activity ahead of their weekend clash against Brighton.
Bardell labelled the club as “unreal” over the fact that they will be playing Brighton at the weekend with no recognised striker in their squad.
Will Villa beat Brighton at the weekend?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their own feelings on the situation.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans slamming the club:
Dan,I can’t ever remember this happening before, with us? It’s shambolic mate, however people try to sugarcoat it with excuses, our recruitment has been a disaster.

Extremely amateurish from the sporting director, the recruitment has been a complete shambles, his head must roll if we go down.

Shambolic sumner recruitment (lack of)
Shambolic August to January planning, when Wesley clearly limited.
Shambolic managment of main back up striker (Kodjia)— Julian (@JB888) January 17, 2020
The two incomings for Villa this month saw Danny Drinkwater come in on a loan deal to fill in for the injured John McGinn, as well as Pepe Reina also on loan to replace the injured Tom Heaton. But now that Villa are preparing to play Brighton with no striker in the squad, some fans have taken aim at the club with a lot of criticisms.
Shambles. In this new set up there is one main who must take main accountability, and that’s Suso. If this relegates us, he needs sacking. If we stay up, he needs sacking. The fact Samatta has a release clause makes it even more unbelievable. Clearly way down the pecking order.

Farcical
— RODGER REYNOLDS (@MRRUTHLESSONE) January 17, 2020
Absolutely pathetic

What do we think?
Given that the club have already signed players like Drinkwater to replace the injured McGinn and Reina to replace Heaton, that shows that the club have been proactive in the transfer window. But the fact that it has taken them this long to replace the injured Wesley with a new striker makes the fans’ irritation understandable.
