Aston Villa beat Nigel Pearson’s Watford in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night to earn a crucial three points and get one over on their fellow strugglers.
A 95th-minute winner sparked incredible scenes and whilst the fans would have left the famous old ground in good spirits, that hasn’t prevented some players receiving criticism.
In particular, defender Kortney Hause was one such individual to be on the receiving end of some backlash. Here’s what some of the supporters made of the 24-year-old’s display.
Have to say that defensively young Hause and Konsa just don’t look good enough at this point in their careers. Not the only issue but a vital one tonight. #avfc

It was Sunday league defending! Big fan of Hause but he’s been very poor in the premiership.

What do we think?
According to WhoScored.com, Hause’s performance earned him a rating of 7.7/10, making him Aston Villa’s man of the match. That match rating, though, makes us all the more confused as to why he’s received such harsh criticism from the supporters.
Signed from Wolves in the summer, Hause, who is valued at £2.25 million (as per Transfermarkt), has only made eight Premier League appearances this season and so remains relatively inexperienced. Each passing game represents a learning curve for the young defender and given the positive result in the end, it would be harsh to stick the knife in on a player who’s clearly not a regular for Dean Smith’s side.
