Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest footage of former striker Jonathan Kodjia.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @astonforza shared a post on their page that included a video of match footage from Kodjia’s first game for new club Al Gharafa in Qatar.
Were Villa right to sell Kodjia this month?
Yes
No
The video, originally shared by Twitter user @DRMOHDALSA3DI showed Kodjia scoring a hat-trick on his debut for the Middle-Eastern club.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on the footage.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans discussing Kodjia:

Shocking standard.

Must be great earning thousands and thousands playing a training match in an empty stadium

If he doesnt score 90 a season he’s failed

The striker recently swapped Birmingham for Qatar after signing for the club on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee (per BBC Sport). Now that footage has emerged on Twitter of Kodjia scoring three goals on his debut, a lot of Villa fans have been sharing their thoughts on their former striker, with split opinions.
It’s a shame he seems wasted at that level

Good for him, but I honestly couldn’t care less.
— Paul Hughes (@hughespaul09) January 23, 2020
Couldn’t do that for us when we needed it
— Brodz (@mcBrodz) January 24, 2020
What do we think?
It’s good to see that Kodjia seems to have settled into his team fairly quickly. To score a hat-trick on your debut match is a great achievement. The tone of some of these replies comes across as quite bitter. That could be because either they didn’t want Kodjia to leave or that they aren’t happy that he is already doing a better job in Qatar than he did for Villa this season, having only scored two goals in 10 appearances this season.
