Beren Cross, in his live Q and A, has dismissed Nahki Wells as a top Leeds United target. (14:08 live blog)

The Whites are desperately looking for a new striker, and a move for Che Adams has seen them have three bids fail, but Cross believes that the Whites are finally ready to move on from their pursuit of Adams.

Would Wells be a good signing for Leeds?

He thinks that Leeds are looking at the European markets for a striker and that Wells is not top of the list.

He said:

“Wells is not at the top of the list, as far as I know.”

Why would Leeds need Wells?

The 29-year-old is currently on loan at QPR from Burnley, and he has scored 13 goals in the Championship this season, including the winner against the Whites last weekend.

Wells, who is valued at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, has always managed to score goals in the Championship.

He has managed 65 goals for various clubs, and he comes alive when he is in the penalty area.

However, is he really what Leeds need?

Marcelo Bielsa has made it clear that he wants a striker who is similar to Patrick Bamford, and the former Bradford City man is more of a goal poacher than a Bamford-like striker.

Who will the Whites get?

The only player that Leeds have made a bid for is Adams, though, that now looks like it will fail, so Leeds have to move on and work on other targets.

A move for Red Bull Leipzig’s Jean-Kevin Augustin has been mooted, but one player who looks like he won’t be moving to Elland Road is Wells.
