While the first-team managed to scrape a result out of their weekend fixture against Blackpool, the U23s lost yet again when facing Norwich (official club website). It was another massive blow for the club who are haven’t seen their side win many competitive matches since Phil Parkinson took over the club.
With the first-team playing so poorly, it is natural for fans to turn towards their academy to look for future prosperity. Unfortunately, the youth team are doing just as poorly as Parkinson’s senior squad. This has caused fans to discuss the state of the club, suggesting that there was ‘carnage at every level’ of the organisation.
Clubs a mess

We’re told this is acceptable… We’re told that the man in charge is doing a good job… These lads have lost almost every single week now since The Eastleigh boys took charge. This is an absolute disgrace for a supposed Cat 1 Academy. https://t.co/Mby4hoBZrx

It’s carnage at every level on and off the pitch!

Are academy results more worrying than the first-team results at Sunderland right now?
Yes
No
One fan shares the horrible record that the team currently have, while another blames the unqualified people running the club.
the 24th match in a row with no victory….

What do we think?
When a team is losing it usually a perfect chance to give aspiring youth a chance to make their mark. Sadly for Sunderland Football Club, right now, there is nobody at any level showing signs of aspiration at all.
