Sunderland’s win over Doncaster on the weekend would have been a huge relief to fans who hadn’t seen their side win since November 2nd, 2019 (WhoScored.com). Had they failed to get three points during the game the Black Cats would have basically gone a whole two months without a win, with their next game being on New Year’s Day against Fleetwood.
But while they will be relieved with the three points, the Sunderland supporters are pushing their team to continue the momentum. There were promising signs shown in the victory. If they can be a bit more consistent they could seriously turn their season around.
One of our better performances of the season. Looks as though this came from the players showing a lot more belief and energy to go do things on the pitch.

Can Sunderland still achieve promotion if they continue to perform like they did against Doncaster?
Yes
No
Some fans think that the club needs to really focus on making good signings in the January transfer window. There is still a chance at achieving promotion if they knuckle down in 2020.
strong transfer window please boys

Now another win against ex mag Joey Barton and things start to look much better. Now Stewart get us 4 decent signings and 2020 can look much brighter

The performance was much better, if they keep this up then we will get promoted, I have a feeling we are going to turn this around.

Gerrin. We’re still with a chance of a playoff, but they must give same effort as today. Well done

What do we think?
One victory does not change how poor Sunderland have been recently. But the win does show that the club is capable of winning matches. If they can harness that level of performance going forward, they still have a shot at glory in the later stage of the season.
