After more than a week off between games, Sunderland Football Club are back in action this weekend against Gillingham. The club are desperate for three points after failing to find winning form under manager Phil Parkinson. He has only managed to win two games since arriving back in mid-October (WhoScored.com).
Despite this, Gillingham manager Steve Evans admitted that Sunderland was a good team. He isn’t going to underestimate the visitors when they play. He even went as far as saying that the Black Cats will finish in a playoff spot at the end of the season (Gillingham).
Sunderland fans heard these comments and couldn’t believe it. They question whether or not Evans is talking about the right team or if he is just confused. Some supporters think he is joking.
Are you being serious?

Do you agree with Steve Evans' comments on Sunderland?
Yes
No
Another fan indicates that he believes Sunderland can finish in the top six, but you’d have to turn the table upside down for that to happen. One believes they are the third-worst team in the league.
Aye maybe if you flip the table upside down

We’re litterelly the 3rd worse team in the league

What do we think?
While this could all just be mind games, the Sunderland fans reactions to Evans’ comments show just how distrustful they are in their team. They don’t believe in themselves, even when their opposition does.
