After his team lost yet another game, Phil Parkinson’s P45 is looming. Sunderland fans have been vocal about their discontent with the manager on Twitter for some time now, which is understandable after looking at their recent form (WhoScored.com).
But last night fans were even more anxious about his exit. After reading their tweets it appears as if false rumours of a Sunderland press conference were leaked. Many fans thought the press conference was going to announce Parkinson’s sacking. Twitter was filled with fans and fan accounts refreshing their social media pages.
I’m going on holiday for a week tomorrow morning and not taking my phone. Complete digital detox. I’m hoping the club is unrecognisable when I return

Did you believe the Sunderland press conference rumours?
Yes
No
One fan even compared it to the rumours spread a week prior about the Queen.
Somebody and their sick rumours, it was the poor Queen last Sunday.

What do we think?
If the manager isn’t going to get sacked after failing to win in 10 out of his first 12 matches then the board must have long term plans for him. But unless he acts quickly, those long term plans could involve a stint in League Two next season.
