Last week, news broke out regarding a bust-up between manager Phil Parkinson and winger Aiden McGeady in the dressing room. Apparently the two butted heads after a picture of McGeady enjoying McDonald’s after a match surfaced. This led to Parkinson confirming that the 33-year-old would be allowed to leave during the January transfer window (Chronical Live).

This has, of course, led to rumours regarding the player’s eventual destination. Middlesbrough have been touted as a potential destination for the winger, as per Sunderland Echo.

Fans reacted to the post suggesting that they are happy for the deal to go through. They would be more than happy to see the player leave. One doesn’t think McGeady is good enough to play in the Championship anymore though.

Other fans admitted that while they have no problem with him leaving, the £2.25m-rated winger (per transfermarkt.co.uk) must go for the right price. They don’t what him to end up leaving on loan, only for the club to continue paying his wage.

What do we think?

The separation of McGeady and Sunderland seems inevitable. Whether it’s Middlesborough or not, fans just want to make sure they get something out of the deal.
