After an impressive start to the 2019/2020 season, nobody can doubt the goalscoring ability of Alfredo Morelos. The 23-year-old striker has notched 11 goals already in the Scottish Premiership, averaging a goal every 80 minutes in the competition (BBC). And while his goal scoring exploits in the league are worthy of praise on their own, it is his record in European competitions that has earned him praise in the later stages of 2019.

In fact, Morelos has officially broken the record for number of goals scored by a player in European competitions before Christmas. The Colombian has notched 14 goals, already.

Rangers’ Twitter posted the news of this record in a thread that featured every European goal he has scored this season so far. Rangers fans reacted to this news, calling the young player a genius. One fan would like to see the player go on to break the all-time record by the end of the season.

Do you think Alfredo Morelos could beat the all-time record by the end of the season?

Other supporters hint that this record could add a few more pounds to his rising price tag. They are aware that other teams are interested in signing the player. If he goes, however, they expect the fee to be a high one.

What do we think?

The numbers behind Morelos’ record says it all. Regardless of who the opponent is, to continually score goal after goal against unfamiliar opposition is never easy, yet it is something Morelos appears to make a mockery off every time he takes to the field.
