After scoring 14 goals in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers and group stage, Alfredo Morelos has already broke a goal-scoring record this year. The striker is the first and only player to have scored 14 goals in European competitions before Christmas. He is only four goals away from breaking Radamel Falcao’s record of scoring 18 European goals in a season (The Herald Scotland).
When the statistic was revealed, Morelos took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement. Words weren’t needed in the tweet. All he posted was a video of his goals and a ‘shushing’ emoji. Rangers fans responded, naturally. They claimed he was irreplaceable. One says he is smoother than coffee while another suggests he is on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Gonna be a really sad day when Alfie leaves, has made himself almost irreplaceable with the massive improvements in all areas of his game this sesson. In all my many years of watching Rangers I have never seen a player create so many chances out of absolutely nothing like Alfie.

Dont argue about who is best, just be thankful that we live in an age where we get to see Morelos, Ronaldo and Messi at the same time.

What do we think?
If Morelos wants to break Falcao’s record, the club will likely have to win their Round of 32 tie. Either that or he must score five goals in two games. But with Morelos in the side, you can’t rule that out.
