Allan McGregor has been Steven Gerrard’s undisputed number one choice goalkeeper this season. The Scottish shot-stopper has been a brilliant servant to the club and is a big reason behind their success so far in 2019/20. But with the Edinburgh born man turning 38 at the end of January, his impressive career can’t go on for too much longer.
Luckily for Rangers fans, youth goalkeeper Lewis Budinauckas committed his next two years to the Gers this week. Budinauckas is 17-years-old, giving him plenty of time to prove himself worthy of becoming Rangers future number one. Fans were thrilled to hear the news of his contract extension and sent him many messages of congratulations.
Do you think Lewis Budinauckas could replace McGregor in the future?

What do we think?
While he has plenty of time in his career to insert himself into the first-team picture, the age of McGregor could pull Budinauckas up through the ranks sooner than expected. Hopefully, for the player and the fans, he can go on to have a long and successful career with Rangers.
