Some Luton Town fans have launched a scathing attack at their club’s manager Graeme Jones after the club’s recent 3-0 loss to Stoke City on Tuesday evening away from home.

This loss comes days after the club’s recent 2-1 win over fellow relegation strugglers Wigan, as a late George Moncur goal had given them all three points in a big game. But the loss to the Potters leaves them at the 21st position in the Championship table.

Joe Allen scored twice for Stoke last night, while winger James McClean scored a goal of his own in the 35th minute to provide a lift to the home side (BBC).

Luton fans: Should Graeme Jones leave the club?

He's clueless!

He's clueless!

He deserves time

He deserves time

But Hatters fans are fuming about Jones and are desperate to see the 49-year-old leave the club as soon as possible.

Jones’ Hatters side have won just two games out of their last six games. One of them was the win over Wigan at the weekend, with the second one coming in a 2-1 win over Charlton back in late November.

Their goalscoring record hasn’t been bad at all. They have scored a total of 27 goals – as many as promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest and even Milwall. But defensively, they haven’t been as good. They have let in the highest number of goals in the division, conceding as many as 44 goals – three more than Barnsley, who have the second-worst record in the league.

The best spell of their season came early on in the campaign when they beat Barnsley, Cardiff and Huddersfield in three consecutive games. Since then though, Jones’ men have won just four games in the Championship.

Jones has been in charge of the club for some months now, as he was appointed as the manager this past summer.

What do we think?

Even though the Hatters aren’t in the best spot, this was pretty much expected from them when they earned promotion. And despite those expectations, they aren’t in the bottom three and have showed enough promise to suggest that they can stay up.

But if they don’t make signings in January, things can get tough for Jones. And if things go completely downhill, they might need to bring in a new manager to get a bounce that can keep them up.
