A lot of Leeds United fans are happy to hear that Jordan Stevens has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2022.
Stevens has played seven times for the Under-23s this season, and in that time he has scored two goals – he also made his first-team debut last season against Stoke City.
However, Stevens just recently returned from a six-week ban for gambling-related activities but he has clearly impressed Leeds’ staff and earned himself a new deal.
Were Leeds right to give Stevens a new contract?
Yes, he made a mistake but deserves a chance
No, he clearly can't learn his lesson
Indeed, this news has delighted many supporters.

Instead of the awful jokes I’ll just say good news and hopefully he’ll show what he’s got in for the first Team in the coming future MOT

What do we think?
It is great to see that Leeds have stuck by a player who made a mistake and instead of giving up on him have committed to nurturing his talent.
This could allow them to develop him both as a player and a man.
Leeds felt that the FA’s punishment on Stevens was rather harsh as he was not just banned from playing football, but he could not even attend training or do anything related to football.
Leeds have responded to this setback for the 19-year-old by showing full commitment to him and his future, and it will be exciting to see if he can push on towards the first team in the next two and a half years.
