A lot of Leeds United fans loved Liam Cooper’s tweet that called out Adam Pope after the BBC commentator said that Leeds had given away a penalty through a “Lapse in concentration.”
Cooper responded to this by claiming that it was not a lapse in concentration and was instead never a penalty.
Was Cooper right to call out Adam Pope?
Yes, the penalty was not White's fault
No, he didn't need to call him out publicly
Adam Pope looked at the replay and realised his error and apologised.
However, the initial tweet from Cooper went down brilliantly on Twitter with many Leeds fans.
Have a lot of respect for you Adam but that isn’t a lapse mate.. It’s never a penalty. https://t.co/qtALys4OCq

Absolutely! You tell him Coops! Awful ref today and cheating Fulham players going down all the time. On and on. MOT

Other Whites supporters could not believe that the referee awarded Fulham a very soft penalty.
Cheated again!
Worse reffing display I’ve seen, you should have walked your players off & then maybe the football league may take notice & do something about it. Too much talk about poor officials & no punishment!— Debbie (@DebbieFishman08) December 21, 2019
No idea how you keep so calm against a ref that was so biased against us. Its disgraceful really. Needs investigating

Second time in a row that The referees give a very wrong penalty against us in London. Hopeless.

What do we think?
Cooper was obviously frustrated after the game and felt the need to correct Adam Pope’s mistake, who admitted that he had got it wrong.
The Scottish international, by tweeting, showed his commitment and passion to the Leeds cause, and a lot of the fans loved the fact Cooper was annoyed with the decision made rather than accepting it.
The penalty itself was very soft (0:30) as Ben White was adjudged to have fouled Bobby Reid who seemed to hit the floor very quickly. (0:30)
This gave Fulham the perfect start, (0:42) and though the Whites dragged themselves level, (1:33) they could not recover from that early penalty and ultimately fell to a 2-1 defeat.
