A lot of Leeds United fans are furious with a post by Graham Smyth – which shows West Bromwich Albion’s winning goal in their 1-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale.
In the 90th minute, Charlie Austin converted a penalty to send the Baggies back to the top of the Championship at Leeds’ expense.
However, the penalty was won in controversial circumstances as it looked like West Brom’s Kyle Edwards dived over the top of Preston’s goalkeeper Declan Rudd.
Should Kyle Edwards be retrospectively banned?
Yes, it was an appalling dive
No, keeper made enough contact
The referee thought there was sufficient contact and awarded a spot-kick – which Austin put away to leave these Leeds fans furious.

Never a penalty…..but Tom Daley would have been proud of that dive mind you!

Other Leeds fans point out the poor standard of officiating in the Championship.
never a penalty!….dodgy EFL refs again!

Edwards needs a ban, and the ref needs a weekend off to think about it. Absolutely terrible decision.

Appalling refereeing, again. If there’s any doubt he can’t give it.

Shocking decision to award a penalty for that.

Refereeing standards in the championship are shocking, predictably so

What do we think?
This was a closely fought game between two good sides with the Baggies shading the first half and then Preston dominating the second.
However, Edwards has dived to win his side a penalty, and these three points could be crucial at the end of the season.
It is no surprise that many Whites supporters are fuming because it was a disgraceful decision by the referee.
Both West Brom and Leeds, though look relentless and the match at the Hawthorns on the 1st of January could prove to be decisive in the race for promotion.
