Some Celtic fans are making it clear that they want the club to re-sign former player Patrick Roberts from Manchester City in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Hoops have now lost their five-point lead at the top of the Premiership and are now only two points clear at the top. The loss to Rangers means that they have a game in hand and winning will mean that Celtic will slip to second in the table.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, the Hoops fans are making it clear they want the club to make certain transfers.

Celtic fans: Should Lennon bring back Roberts?

Absolutely!

Absolutely!

We should move on!

We should move on!

And some are sure that Roberts might be the answer to their problems currently.

So far this season, James Forrest has been an important player for the Hoops. He has played a total of 35 games in all competitions for the Hoops. He has racked up a tally of 14 goals and also has 16 assists to his name.

When it comes to Roberts, he had signed for Celtic on a loan deal from Manchester City in the summer of 2016 and had been at the club till the end of the 2017-18 season.

In the first season, Roberts, who is valued at £3.15 million (as per Transfermarkt), had played 47 times in all competitions for the Bhoys. He racked up a tally of 11 goals and also had a tally of 19 assists that season. In the 2017-18 season, Roberts played 18 times in all competitions and scored once, assisting five times.

Last season, Man City sent him on loan to Girona and he is currently at Norwich City in the Premier League this season.

What do we think?

A lot will depend on what sort of deal Celtic could sign Roberts for. A loan deal will only be a temporary solution – as Mohamed Elyounoussi is in his current loan deal from Southampton. Roberts could provide very good competition to Forrest on the right flank too.
