Some Celtic fans are desperate to see their club draw against Cluj and make sure that Lazio get knocked out of the Europa League in the group stages of the competition.

Neil Lennon’s men managed to seal a spot in the next round of the Europa League by beating Rennes in the previous game. It is the first time in history that they will finish first and go through by finish top of their group.

They have already beaten Lazio twice this season, picking up 2-1 wins at home and away from home. Ahead of the club’s sixth game of the group stage in the Europa League against Cluj, many Hoops fans are urging the club to draw so that the Biancocelesti go out of the competition.

And they are desperate for it.

Celtic fans: Do you want Lazio to progress?

No chance!

No chance!

Don't care about them, we should win

The Hoops have played out what has been an impressive European campaign after they failed to qualify for the Champions League early on in the campaign. They are yet to lose a single game in the competition.

They were held to a 1-1 draw by Rennes in the opening game of the campaign but managed to beat them 3-0 at home two weeks ago. They did beat Cluj 2-0 at home two months ago, thanks to goals from Mohamed Elyounoussi and Odsonne Edouard.

They’ve already beaten the Biancocelesti twice. At home, Ryan Christie and Christopher Jullien had scored, while Manuel Lazzari had scored from Simone Inzaghi’s men. At the Stadio Olimpico, Lazio had gone in front. But James Forrest scored to equalize with Olivier Ntcham scoring the stoppage-time winner.

Lazio have to hope that Celtic beat Cluj and they have to beat Rennes, to have any hopes of qualifying for the next round.

What do we think?

Lazio did beat Juventus 3-1 in the Serie A this past weekend and it could have been 4-1, if Ciro Immobile hadn’t missed a penalty and its rebound. They have won all of their last seven Serie A games, having been unbeaten in ten of them.

With Celtic, perhaps, going in with a weaker team, there is still a chance for Lazio.
