The Hoops are constantly using a 4-2-3-1 shape under Neil Lennon this season, with Scott Brown playing regularly alongside former Scotland national team compatriot James Forrest.
This season, Brown has played 32 times in all competitions for the Hoops. He has racked up a tally of four goals and has one assist to his name as well. His most recent goal proved crucial for the club and it came in stoppage time in the Hoops’ 2-1 win over Hamilton at the end of last month. It helped Celtic open up a two-point lead at the top of the Premiership.
Last season, Brown had played 51 times in all competitions for the Hoops. He scored three times and racked up one assist as well.
Since joining the club from Hibs in the summer of 2007 for a fee of £4.4m as a 21-year-old, Brown has become a club legend. Since then, he has played 548 games and has scored 44 times for the club.
What do we think?
Brown has become a club legend and he has long been a fan favourite. His goal against Hamilton can’t be put down and it was a watershed moment in the season. It opened up a lead between the two clubs that could well prove to be crucial when the season ends.
