Some Celtic fans are raving about how well Ryan Christie has been playing after the club’s recent 2-0 win over Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday (BBC).
The Hoops kept their winning run going, six days after they had lost to Cluj in the UEFA Europa League in Romania. The win over Hearts saw them remain at the top of the Premiership and extend their lead to five points.
Christie scored in the game, with fellow midfielder Olivier Ntcham also scoring a goal of his own.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been one of the club’s most important players this season. Having grown in stature over the last few years, his influence has only increased.
This season, the Scotsman has played 30 times in all competitions for the Hoops. He has racked up a tally of 17 goals and 11 assists. In the Premiership, he has played 14 games in midfield and has contributed to as many as 16 goals in total.
This is an improvement from last season when Christie had played 38 times in all competitions under Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon combined. He racked up a tally of 11 goals and nine assists on the way. He’s already gone past that tally this season.

Fans comparing Christie to Lionel Messi do make a fair comparison considering how much impact both of them have on their sides. And Christie’s influence can’t be put down in any way. Christie is only 24 and he will only improve in the future.
